What is Mahjong Solitaire?
Mahjong Solitaire is a single-player tile-matching puzzle built from the traditional Mahjong tile set.
Tiles are laid out in layered shapes โ turtles, castles, dragons โ and your job is to remove every tile
by clearing matching pairs. Unlike competitive four-player Mahjong, there are no discards and no opponents:
the only thing you play against is the layout itself.
Rules in 30 seconds
- A tile is free when no tile rests on top of it and at least one side (left or right) is open.
- Click two identical free tiles โ they vanish. Jokers match any Joker; Flowers match Flowers; Seasons match Seasons.
- Clear all tiles to win. No moves left? Undo, or start a fresh solvable deal.
Strategy tips
- Peel layers, don't cherry-pick pairs. Freeing a buried pair is usually worth more than clearing any visible pair.
- Keep both ends of long rows working. A row blocked on both sides is dead until you open an end.
- Watch the top-layer stacks. Everything under them is frozen โ clear raised tiles early.
- Turn on Solvable mode and every deal is guaranteed to have at least one winning path โ stuck means you made a choice, not that fate did.
